While walking my two beautiful, but willful Westies one day, I saw a neighbor who was walking her rescue Shepard mix, Angel. We used to swap stories about how smart but disobedient our dogs were, how exhausting walking them was and how difficult, if not impossible it was, to train them. To my astonishment, Angel was walking calmly and quietly by her side and was following all her commands. I asked her how her dog could have changed so drastically in just two weeks and she told me about Dog Remedy and David Reinecker.

I immediately checked out David's web site (www.dogremedy.com). It all looked too good to be true and I did not call him about training my dogs for several more weeks due to my previous bad experience with other dog trainers.

When I brought Duffy, my first Westie home, he cried incessantly for the first week. I was at my wit's end and hadn't slept all week. My boss suggested that I bring Duffy to another trainer. What a mistake. Before the other trainer came out, his assistant talked me into buying 8 videotapes, 3 books and a leash for almost $200.00. As soon as the trainer saw my little 8 week old 3 lb. puppy, he threw him on the ground, held him down forcibly and shoved his finger down the dog's throat. I said “what the hell are you doing???” and he said “he’s neurotic, needs to be dominated and needs to get used to having someone shove pills down his throat”. I grabbed my little shaking puppy and left.

Then David came along. He was exactly what the pups and I needed: a calming, gentle, loving approach to dog training. Miraculously, after only 3 lessons, the dogs are not only so much better behaved, but happier, too. Friends and neighbors who know my dogs cannot believe the change in the them in such a short period of time. Their incessant barking ceased (a miracle in itself), they walk calmly by my side instead of pulling the leash all over, they don’t bolt out the front door and they are calmer and incredibly obedient. Due to David’s calm, loving, no nonsense approach, even though they are well behaved, they haven’t lost their fun Westie spirit.

I highly recommend David to anyone who wants their dogs trained in a strong but kind and loving way. He gets results immediately. It is the best money I could have ever spent on these loving dogs.

When I relocated to an apartment in Los Angeles from an East Coast country property with many acres of land, I knew the adjustment would be difficult. It proved quite a challenge for my seven and a half year old German Shepard Harley rescued from a shelter when he was six. Harley started barking at all the street sounds and many noises he heard. Soon my neighbors began complaining and writing nasty notes so I had no choice but to seek expert help. It took just one lesson with David to completely cure this problem. The techniques were gentle, supportive and easy to incorporate into a busy life style.

Although I needed help from David for the barking issue, I received additional advice and training that radically changed Harley’s life. Unfortunately he had a history of severe abuse and neglect culminating in his abandonment and being locked in a basement. It took a long time for him to become comfortable and affectionate with me after his rescue. He never could relax around others, was shy and withdrawn and always terrified of men. As a psychotherapist trained to work with traumatized children, I knew the long range effects of prolonged abuse. David offered many ideas to help Harley learn to relax and self-sooth, all of them making sense with my background as a therapist except tailored to a doggy mentality.

Today I have a happy, healthy loving pet. He goes on hikes with my family freely socializing with other people and dogs. Best of all the look of fear that was in his eyes is gone. Thank you David for giving Harley the ability to enjoy the happy life he deserves.

David has been an excellent resource and a great help to our clients with pets that have behavioral problems. His enthusiasm for his work and his ability to quickly assess and treat those animals is of great benefit to our clients. David is extremely personable and works well with our animal friends and as importantly works well with their humans. I strongly recommend that anyone with a pet with behavioral problems seek out David Reinecker for his caring expertise.

Hi David,

We are so happy with the training you did for our beloved rescue dog Casper (yellow lab mix). He was so stressed at the end of my pregnancy and when I brought our newborn son home that he stopped eating. He also became very tense and over protective of my baby--he would get between me and the baby and whoever got near us. This was a huge problem when family visited or when our baby nurse came ever yday. In just two sessions he was a new dog. Your gentle holistic approach calmed him and he started eating again and relaxed his attitude. We were able to follow your instructions and get him "normal" again. He has even become a friend to my baby nurse. Thank you for helping us during a most stressful time. We were at wits end and you came when we needed you most.

Sincerely,

New Mom, Justine

Mr. David Reinecker trains animals from the heart. He uses the gentle response training method which he developed. His method is quick, to the point and the animals respond rapidly to his technique. As veterinarians we are well aware that up to 80% of animals adopted are returned to the shelters do to aggressive behavior, and biting and barking problems.

His method saves lives. When owners can not handle their new pets because of some behavior problem they are often returned to the shelters or abandoned. New owners often do not know the proper technique or training methods that allow for the strengthening of the human animal bond. David helps this bond to grow.

I recommend David to all my clients and those who have tried him could not be happier.

For us to incur the expense of bringing a dog trainer from Southern California all the way to Mississippi, you may correctly conclude that the “pets” had taken over the house. The two four-year old Golden Retrievers, Jake and Allie who are brother and sister, were both good-natured but undisciplined. Fortunately, they had outgrown the puppy phase without too much damage to our home but were a consistent nuisance with their barking and jumping on people as well as on doors when they wanted to leave or enter the house.

This amicable standoff ended last year when we became the foster parents of a white Labrador Retriever and a Weimaraner. A conspiracy quickly developed with the synergy between the two older goldens who were defensive of their turf and the two male pups who were little “hell raisers.” Our home quickly suffered collateral damage as the four initiated a coup d’etat to take over control of the family.

David helped to save our home as well as our sanity. Within minutes he was able to identify the cause of many of their annoying habits and then train us to interact with them in a more effective manner. His approach, rather than using punishment or bribing with treats, encourages bonding with one’s pets.

Thank you David!

I recommend David to all dog owners, especially those who have tried everything else without success. He is kind, humane, and highly effective immediately. Most dog trainers don't understand how complicated family and social dynamics affect dog behavior. David knows how to best train a particular dog in a particular family. He has wisdom with people as well as dogs, and that is why his methods work so well. Our dog was aggressive by nature, and, sadly, we were planning to give him up. With some new tools from David, we are able to enjoy the parts of his personality we love so much. We were all more relaxed after his visit, and six months later, we are still able to keep our dog.

Many thanks,

Dear David, I just wanted to take a moment to let you know what an extraordinary job you've done with both my boxers, Bruno and Lola. It's amazing to me how well they both took to your methods and have become perfect models of obedience...Even Lola, who was so stubborn and unruly, has become the most obedient puppy.

What amazes me most, is that each dog has opposite personalities and started training with you at different ages, but the effect of your training principles has been working for both.

Thank you very much!

Sincerely,

Dear David,

We can't thank you enough for helping us learn how to train our adolescent puppy, Kaz. The younger of two dogs in our house, Kaz was becoming increasingly territorial and aggressive on leash. Because we live across from a school, we feared Kaz running out into the street, or worse, going after one of the school kids. We knew from his unwillingness to respect our boundaries, that we weren't training him correctly.

My wife and I were in agreement after finding your website and reading the testimonials. Your humane approach to training was what we found most refreshing from other more aggressive dog behaviorists. I called the following day, and we have never looked back. After two sessions, the difference in Kaz is night and day. We are able to anticipate and avoid his manipulation of the situation. We can now take pleasant walks with both of our dogs at heel without Kaz running around like a maniac. Not only does he obey our commands and respect the set boundaries, he is much more receptive to new training. We're still working on chasing birds and squirrels, but his improvement is profound.

Our goal was to help our dog before something serious happened; you taught us how to be better dog-owners. We highly recommend your service to anyone who loves and respects their four-legged friends. Your simple, logical, and safe techniques of working with our dogs helped us immensely and gave us the confidence we needed. Thank you.

I was apprehensive about dog training because I thought it might break my dogs spirit. After all, they had a tough start. Both were rescued and I wanted them to feel loved and cared for. However when both dogs started exhibiting aggressive behavior, I knew I needed help. From the moment, Karma and Holden met David there was calm.

David has the unique ability to instantly access behavior in both the dogs and humans. He customized training to appeal to both animals specific personalities and the results are phenomenal! They actually like it. Thanks to David, Karma and Holden are not only well behaved and alert, they're happier. My good dogs are now great dogs!

I have two shelties with different problems- one a problem barker and the other with aggression towards other dogs. It was so satisfying to see results before my eyes within minutes of David working with the dogs. His techniques are tried and true and easy to follow on your own. One might expect a trainer to have quick results, but is so rewarding to use techniques on your own and get the same results. After only two sessions the difference in my dogs behavior is amazing. We love our dogs and want what's best for them, David has given us the tools and we are all much happier and more peaceful.

Thank you, David! When our daughter, Sophie, was to be born, we were nervous, knowing that our dog, Teddy had been aggressive toward people and other dogs. Everyone was telling us to give him away before we had a real problem on our hands. With your help, Teddy has become a “model canine.” He now walks perfectly at our side, stays when told, and we no longer fear that he is aggressive. He’s stopped lunging at the mailman, ignores other dogs on his walks, and allows visitors to enter the house without incident. We, not Teddy, are finally in charge of the family. And you accomplished all this by showing nothing but love and kindness to Teddy. When Sophie arrived, Teddy welcomed her into the family with lots of licks. We are truly a happy, confident family, thanks to you.

All the best.

Steve Hummel and Lori Strauss, Sophie, and Teddy.

Dear David,

What can I say...You have been an angel from God sent to us. When we called you our dog was crazy! he was afraid of everything and of men. We now have a dog who is friendly, relaxed and happy. It seems that he has a new sense of trust and who ever comes into our house he greets with a waging tail, and they can actually pet him!

I think your real talent is in dealing with us humans and training us!! I will continue to let everybody know about your special talent with us.

From a very Grateful family,

I have a five-year-old American Eskimo, named Sam. When he was a puppy, a vet once told me that he had suffered some sort of brain damage or was born with a lessened ability to learn. For years, we treated him as if he were stupid. We just ignored him when he destroyed our property or barked incessantly. He was mainly relegated to the back yard, where he dug holes, jumped the fence, and irritated the neighbors to no end. I called Dog Remedy to see if there was anything that could be done to help this poor obedience-school dropout. In one session, Sam learned how to be a joyful member of our household, and we learned that our dog had been walking all over us for years! Sam is very bright. I feel guilty for not giving him any credit all of this time, but we still have many years to enjoy our brand-new dog!

Dear David, I just wanted to let you know how much my husband and I appreciate your help with our two cute but misbehaving Coton De Tulear dogs. With our first baby on the way we didn’t have the time to spend months training our dogs. In only two lessons, you taught our dogs to master the off command and to take walks without growling and chasing people and dogs (Cody) or jumping on people (Maddie). Now walking them in the park is a pleasure vs. a struggle especially fix someone in my condition.

Although we had taken the dogs to group classes in the park and had even had private lessons with another trainer, your techniques were very simple but at the same time very effective. Thanks again and we’re happy to say we’re now the proud owners of two well-behaved dogs.

I would like to thank you for all that you taught my Yorkie, Jack. In the 4 weeks since you worked with him, there has been virtually no barking in the house. This is the same dog that used to wake my wife, Elsa up each night with his barking.

Jack also seems to be even more loving now than he was before. You explained that setting certain boundaries like with his feeding would cause this. You were right!

Jack has had other trainers before, but none spent the amount of time with him as you did. You seemed more interested in improving Jack’s behavior than you did with the time. You can bet that if ever anyone asks me about a dog trainer, I will recommend Dog Remedy! You and Tatiana run a class operation!

David: You are, indeed, a miracle worker. On the 11th time of my dog Charley, running away, he was run-over. I took him to Dr. Moller, to get him patched-up. When I told him about the running-away problem, he gave me your card. With the confidence that I have in Dr. Moller, I figured it would be worth a try. It was a miracle, in one hour, Charley would not leave my yard. He goes about six feet from both gates and stops, and he shows no interest in going beyond. I have also employed some of your other suggestions, and they work as well.

Your claim of instant results is no exaggeration. You have made life much easier for both me and Charley. With sincere gratitude.

I've had dogs all my life, and have never seen anyone as in tune with the dog's mind (as wacky as it may be!) and the family members as David. He has an unbelievable gift to get straight, quickly, and humanely to the issue and correct it in a way that "talks dog". His method is treat-free, gimmick-free, and intimidation-free...unlike any other trainer I've ever met. A session with David should be given out with every new puppy!

We are so grateful to have our life back!

David Reinecker is one of those rare and wonderful people who has found his genius and put it into action. He is almost mystically tuned into dogs in a way that bypasses the usual rigours of training my Chihuahuas, as much as I did everything other trainers taught me, were still not well house broken after 4 years. Literally after one session with David, they are 90% better. miracles never cease! David really has tapped into something wonderful and I know he could deal with absolutely any canine conundrum!

Dear David, thank you for your “magical” work with Casper!. As you know, with Casper’s many owners and homes, his separation anxiety was pretty severe. In just two sessions with him, you managed to achieve what countless other trainers could not - Casper was finally able to stay on our patio, and not howl, claw at the windows, or pee everywhere. We would surely recommend you to anyone!

David Reinecker has provided my dogs with training I have been unable to get from other trainers: How to get my elderly dog(14 yrs.) to stop barking frivolously. Because she did not bark excessively, to get her to stop barking in a frivolous way seemed impossible. With David's techniques (which are quite interesting), Honeybear's frivolous howls are no longer. And my younger dog got plenty of residual training while she was along for the ride. And my only "complaining" neighbor hasn't been heard of since. I recommend this team!"

David helped us get Duke from the breeder when he was eight weeks old. David is a kind, extremely reliable, and dedicated dog trainer. All dogs respond to him. He is concerned about their health, diet and fitness in addition to their behavior.

We would recommend David to anyone in need of an effective and caring dog trainer.

David has a special talent and has been a great comfort to me and my wife Nicollette. We own a rare breed, a canaan dog, and she is very high strung and unpredictable. (The dog, not my wife.) Her name is Sundae, and she is also highly intelligent. That’s why we felt sorry for her when we were not communicating well. She was eager to please, but she just did not know how.

That’s when David came into our lives. His rapport with Sundae relieved our stress. Now, our dog fits our lifestyle, rather than the other way around. She is a happier animal and has prospered under his training.

You must see David in action to believe his ability to communicate with a dog, and guide it toward better behavior. It’s almost instantaneous when he walks into the house. It’s an amazing connection to see. Here’s supporting David Reinecker and Dog Remedy.

It is interesting how when a stranger enters your home, he is no longer a stranger. That is the way I felt about David Reinecker when he came to our home to help us with our three dogs. David walked in, took one look at the situation and sized us all up. He was able to sense the vibes of both the humans and the dogs. Four out of the five of us all seem to be A type personalities. We needed someone like David to rearrange our approach. He was invited to help us help our "problem child," Henry, a Sheltie with extreme anxiety, a strong sense of hearing, and a mind of his own. Henry is a sweetheart who needs lots of guidance in a calm and measured way. Kerry, our older Sheltie, is frustrated by Henry, and wants to do things her way. Riley, who is new to the pack is our son's Lab who has come to live with us while his "dad" is on the road with his job; we are small folk who have never had a big dog. We are trying to "blend" our family.

We keep wondering when Riley's sense of calm and willingness to please are going to rub off on our other two dogs. They all get along, but Henry makes it rather trying. After just two visits we seem to be on the road. Henry still tries to attack the oven, microwave and toaster, but the three of them are now able to do a thirty minute downstay with minimal correction, the barking and jumping at the front door are lessening and "mom and dad" seem a little calmer and more relaxed. There is less talk and more direction.

We know that we still have a ways to go with Henry, but with David's calm, measured approach we are making headway. The challenge for David is not just the three dogs, but also the two adults. My husband and I are learning how to be calmer and less reactive to Henry's problems. With David's help and the realization that it may take a little more time, I think we can make it.

I look forward to his next visit because each time he comes, things get better!

Thank you David.
