Imagine: After eight years of being snapped at and occasionally bitten by my
wild and aggressive miniature poodle, “Caro Mio”, (who is under the delusion
that he is standard size and doesn’t want to admit that he was dwarfed somewhere
along the breeding lines), I was astounded to see him metamorphosed into a
docile “pussy cat” type after only two sessions with David Reinecker, who is
truly the Pied Piper of the Canine World! Best of all, It was done gently,
easily, humanely, without shouting or in any way maltreating this often
charming, yet generally fierce, eccentric and independent little creature that
is supposed to protectively wander through life with me.
The dog stays down when told to do so and is learning thereby not to lunge at
the unsuspecting person entering the front door! He now also walks calmly next
to me, rather than pulling my arm out of the shoulder socket, for instance; and
so, after eight years, in many different ways, we are becoming re-acquainted
with “Caro”: Where, until now, I was his closest human friend (nasty though he
could be), he is presently turning into my true, loving, and very best friend!
For this feat David deserves my admiration and the conviction that he must have
been a dog in another life, else, how could he understand so awfully well the
complex labyrinth that is the screwed-up psyche of my cagey, canine companion? I
can only be thankful that he got me out of the “dog house” and into an Alpha
mode, after being an Omega so very long...
