Dear David:
I just wanted to thank you wholeheartedly for the work you did with me and my
best buddy, Nicholas, earlier this year. You are truly a canine magician!
As you may recall, my then two year old Husky mix, Nicholas, was a sweet,
friendly and affectionate dog, but one that had been exhibiting aggressive and
destructive tendencies. In fact, he was systematically destroying my backyard
and my house - everything from tearing out all the screens on the screen doors
and crawl space vents to destroying a French door (yes, the actual wood door) to
breaking in under the house and tearing out my alarm, telephone and cable
wiring. But he would only do these things at night, at times when he was home
alone so we could never catch him in the act. Every time we came home from an
evening out I would cringe in anticipation of the destruction I would find. I
was literally at my wits' end. It was like living with Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.
I loved my buddy so much but he was making me crazy and costing me a fortune in
repairs. My husband was ready to get rid of the dog. In desperation, I went
searching on the internet for a dog trainer specializing in canine behavior
problems. It was my lucky day when I came across your website, David.
From the first moment I spoke to you and explained my plight, I knew I had come
to the right place. Not only did you gain an understanding of the dog's
behavior, but you took the time to understand us, our household environment and
our dynamics with Nicholas, It took you no time during our first meeting to
diagnose a strong male dog who was in charge of our little family of 3, and for
you to identify me as "the weakest link" (guilty as charged!).
Well, I am the weakest link no more. After a mere 3 sessions, you taught me to
think like a dog and to be cognizant. We made the subtle changes that you
suggested to set boundaries and realign the structure in our family, and the
difference in Nicholas' behavior has been remarkable! It took diligence and
consistency on our part, but he is now a well-behaved, happy and content member
of the family. He is loving, mellow, more respectful of our space, and no longer
nips or jumps up. No more aggression and destruction. All of our family and
friends have commented on how much his behavior has improved. And yet there were
no negative personality changes. Occasionally, he'll get hyper and start to get
a little physical. In that situation, it is one firm "OFF" and he backs off and
regroups. I could not be happier!
David, I learned so much from you during each of the three sessions that we had
together. And I can honestly say that I saw immediate results with Nicholas each
time. Seeing you in action working with my dog made me truly appreciate your
ability - you make it look so effortless. You really do communicate with these
animals in a way they understand. And even when you are correcting their
behavior, you can see that they love and respect you. For that, I love and
respect you!! You brought some peace and harmony back to this household and gave
me a new and improved best buddy.
In addition to the overall improvements in Nicholas' behavior and demeanor, I
noticed the following specific improvements:
• Nicholas had been a picky eater who rarely finished all his food and took his
sweet time in doing so. By making subtle changes in his feeding habits -
spitting in his food (everyone got a kick out of that one!), the 3 minute rule,
and no red meat - he now comes running for his food at feeding time and eats
every bite, usually in under 3 minutes.
• Nicholas isn't around kids a lot so I wasn't sure how he would react when my
niece and nephews (aged 1 yr to 7 years old) came over last Easter. I was
watching him carefully when they were around him as he is a big dog and kids can
be unpredictable. He behaved like a perfect gentleman, playing with the kids in
the yard, and didn't even react when my 1 year old nephew climbed on his back
and took a bite!
David, I can't thank you enough for your help. You were worth every penny and I
would recommend you highly to anyone experiencing behavioral problems with their
pet. You are truly a gifted professional. Your caring and gentle manner is
sincerely appreciated.
I wish you all the best Please stop by if you are ever in the Westchester area
-I'm sure Nicholas would love lo thank you personally.
All my best,
Lori Pecarich
